The Premier League is the top division of English football and the most watched league in the world, broadcasted to more than 200 countries. The competition is known for its intensity, fast pace and the large number of competitive teams.

History

Fundada em 1992 quando os clubes da First Division se separaram da Football League (fundada em 1888), a Premier League rapidamente se tornou a liga mais rica e influente do mundo. Manchester United dominou os primeiros anos com Alex Ferguson no comando. A chegada de investimentos estrangeiros transformou o futebol inglês, com Chelsea, Manchester City e outros emergindo como potências. O título de 2015-16 do Leicester City foi considerado um dos maiores feitos do futebol moderno.
