History
A Supercopa Uruguaya foi criada em 2018 pela Associação Uruguaia de Futebol como partida de abertura da temporada, reunindo o campeão do Campeonato Uruguaio e o campeão do Torneio Intermedio do ano anterior, geralmente disputada no final de janeiro ou início de fevereiro. Peñarol venceu a primeira edição, em 2018, batendo o Nacional por 3 a 1. Nas edições seguintes, o título já foi decidido em disputas de pênaltis, como em 2019, e em prorrogação, como em 2020 e 2022. Nacional e Liverpool despontaram como os maiores vencedores da competição, com três títulos cada um até a edição de 2025, enquanto o Peñarol conquistou a taça em duas ocasiões.
