Abby Wambach

Abby Wambach is considered one of the greatest forwards in women's soccer history worldwide, recognized for her aerial dominance and goal-scoring instinct. She built a distinguished career in the North American league, playing for clubs such as Washington Freedom, Western New York Flash, and Seattle Reign, throughout a trajectory marked by collective and individual achievements. For the United States national team, Wambach was a fundamental piece for over a decade, winning two Olympic golds (2004 and 2012) and the 2015 World Cup title, ending her international career shortly after that world title. In 2012, she became the first player to receive the Ballon d'Or Féminin, and was also elected FIFA Player of the Year that same year. Upon retirement, she was the greatest goal scorer in the history of national teams, both men and women, with 184 goals scored in international matches.
