Abedi Pelé
Abedi Ayew, worldwide known as Abedi Pelé, is considered the greatest African player of his generation and one of the greatest of all time on the continent. Born in 1964 in Kibi, Ghana, he received the nickname 'Pelé' while still young, such was his talent. His time at Olympique de Marseille between 1987 and 1993 was the pinnacle of an extraordinary career, crowned with the conquest of the Champions League in 1993, becoming the first African to win the most important club competition in the world. Three-time African Player of the Year (1991, 1992, 1993), an unprecedented feat in the history of the award. His legacy also lives on through his sons André Ayew and Jordan Ayew, both high-level professional players.
