Adílio

Adílio was one of the greatest midfielders in the history of Flamengo and Brazilian football. Creative, technical, and with excellent game vision, he was a fundamental piece in the legendary Flamengo of Zico's 1980s, considered one of the best club teams in the history of South American football. Born in Valença, Rio de Janeiro, Adílio joined Flamengo in the 1970s and quickly became an undisputed starter. With his tactical intelligence and ability to read the game, he formed one of the most lethal partnerships in Brazilian football alongside Zico, Júnior, and Leandro, enchanting fans inside and outside Brazil. His name was marked forever in history by being part of the team that won the Copa Libertadores in 1981 and the Intercontinental Cup that same year, defeating Liverpool 3-0 in Tokyo. That Flamengo is frequently cited among the best teams in the world of all time, and Adílio was a central piece in this historic construction.
