Alessandro Costacurta

Alessandro Costacurta was an Italian centre-back and symbol of Milan throughout the 1980s, 1990s and 2000s, forming alongside Franco Baresi, Paolo Maldini and Mauro Tassotti one of the most legendary defenses in football history. Practically a one-club player, Costacurta wore Milan's shirt for over two decades, winning multiple Serie A titles and European Cup/Champions League titles. His career also included stints with the Italian national team, with participations in World Cups. After retiring in 2007, Costacurta remained connected to football as a commentator and sports director, being remembered as one of the greatest European centre-backs of his generation.
