Alessia Russo

Alessia Russo was born on February 8, 1999 and began her career in the youth categories of clubs such as Chelsea and Brighton & Hove Albion, before moving to the United States, where she represented the university team North Carolina Tar Heels from 2017. Back in England, she signed with Manchester United in September 2020, where she remained until 2023, playing 46 league matches and scoring 22 goals. In July 2023, she transferred to Arsenal, the club for which she has already accumulated more than 60 matches and approximately 39 goals. For the English national team, she made her debut in February 2020, during the SheBelieves Cup in the United States. Her greatest moment of international prominence came at the 2022 Women's Euros, held at home, when she became the first player to score four goals coming off the bench in a single tournament edition, helping England win the inaugural title. Russo was also champion of the 2025 Women's Euros and the Finalissima with the English national team, and was named Player of the Year by the Football Writers' Association (FWA) in the 2024-25 season.
