Alex Iwobi

Alex Iwobi is a Nigerian midfielder trained in Arsenal's youth academy, the club where he made his professional debut in 2015. Nephew of former player Jay-Jay Okocha, he carries in his family a footballing tradition that helped shape his choice for the Nigerian national team over England, the country where he was born and developed as a player. At Arsenal, he acted as a versatile option in midfield and attack, participating in the club's reconstruction seasons before transferring to Everton in 2019, where he established himself as a regular starter in the Premier League. In 2023, he joined Fulham, where he maintained his status as a frequent starter and expanded his reputation as a reliable and consistent player at the elite level of English football. For the Nigerian national team, Iwobi has been an important player since the mid-2010s, having competed in the 2018 World Cup and been runner-up at the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations, lost to Côte d'Ivoire.
