Alexia Putellas

Alexia Putellas is one of the greatest midfielders in the history of women's football, developed through Barcelona's youth academy and a technical reference for the Catalan club and the Spanish national team. After stints at Espanyol and Levante, she returned to Barcelona in 2012, where she established herself as captain and the team's main playmaker, playing a central role in winning multiple domestic and European titles. In 2021 and 2022, Putellas was named the best player in the world by FIFA and won the Women's Ballon d'Or, becoming the most dominant athlete of her generation before suffering a serious cruciate ligament injury on the eve of Euro 2022. Even after the injury, she returned to the pitch and continued as the technical and emotional leader of Barcelona and the Spanish national team, which won the Women's World Cup in 2023.
