Andoni Zubizarreta was one of the most reliable and enduring goalkeepers in the history of Spanish football, recognized for his consistency and longevity at the highest level. Trained in the basic categories of Basque football, he built a career marked by safety between the posts and leadership on the field. He defended the Spanish national team for more than a decade, and for a long time was the player with the most matches played for Spain. After ending his playing career, he continued in football as a sports director, holding positions as sports director at Spanish clubs, applying the experience accumulated on the field to the management of professional squads.
