Brad Friedel was born in Lakewood, Ohio, on May 18, 1971, and became one of the most consistent goalkeepers in Premier League history. Trained in American college football, he built his career in England, where he played for Liverpool, Blackburn Rovers, Aston Villa and Tottenham. Between 1997 and 2014 he accumulated 450 games in the Premier League and holds the record for 310 consecutive matches in the competition, a mark that illustrates his longevity. With Blackburn he won the English League Cup in 2002 and even scored a goal in 2004. For the United States national team he played 82 matches and was the starter in the 2002 World Cup campaign, when the team reached the quarter-finals. He ended his career in 2015 at New England Revolution, and then became a coach.
