Castilho Paes Barreto was born in 1928 in São Paulo, becoming one of the greatest Brazilian goalkeepers of the modern era. He started his career in São Paulo football and established himself as one of the main goalkeepers of the Brazilian national team in the 1940s and 1950s. Known for his exceptional reflexes and modern ball distribution for his time, Castilho was a fundamental player in important campaigns of the Brazilian national team. He participated in World Cups and won state titles, being revered as a legend of São Paulo football.
