Cristian Romero

Cristian Gabriel 'Cuti' Romero is an Argentine center-back, captain of Tottenham Hotspur and a key player for the Argentine national team since the late 2010s. He began his professional career at Belgrano, from his hometown of Córdoba, before moving to Italy in 2018. In Italy, he played for Genoa and Juventus, who bought him permanently in 2019, before loaning him to Atalanta in 2020. At Atalanta, he had an outstanding 2020/21 season, being named Serie A's best center-back, which motivated the club to exercise his purchase option. In August 2021, he was signed by Tottenham Hotspur, where he became a starter and a fan favorite, being named the UEFA Europa League Player of the Season in 2024/25, the year the club won the continental title. For the Argentine national team, he was champion of the Copa América 2021 and the World Cup in Qatar in 2022, as well as the Finalíssima in 2022.
