David Alaba

Born in Vienna, son of a Nigerian father and Filipino mother, David Alaba joined Bayern Munich's youth categories as a child, revealing from an early age the versatility that would mark his entire career. He turned professional at Bayern in 2010 and became one of the most complete players in European football in the following decade, capable of playing as a left-back, center-back and even defensive midfielder with the same level of efficiency. He was a central piece in Bayern's historic sextuple won in 2020 (six titles in the same season), ending his relationship with the German club in 2021 after more than a decade of achievements. He transferred to Real Madrid in 2021 as a center-back, but had his career affected by a serious knee injury starting in December 2023, which kept him off the pitch for almost a year of recovery.
