David de Gea

David de Gea is considered one of the best goalkeepers of his generation, having built one of the longest and most successful careers of a goalkeeper at Manchester United. With extraordinary reflexes and safe hands, the Spaniard was named the club's best player for four different seasons. Trained in the youth categories of Atlético de Madrid, De Gea made his professional football debut at 18 years old and quickly caught the attention of all of Europe. His transfer to Manchester United in 2011 for around 20 million euros was one of the great successes of English football in the post-Ferguson era. In his 12 years at Old Trafford, De Gea made numerous historic saves that became hallmarks of his career. Despite occasional errors in penalty saves for the Spanish national team, his legacy in English football is undeniable. He ended his time at United in 2023 with 545 matches played.
