David Luiz
David Luiz Moreira Marinho was born on April 22, 1987, in Diadema, São Paulo. A center-back of great technical quality, he stood out for his ball-handling skills, excellent game vision, and ability to carry the ball from the defensive field, characteristics uncommon for a player in his position. He began his professional career at Esporte Clube Vitória, in Salvador, where he caught the attention of major European clubs. He was signed by Benfica, from Portugal, where his technical quality consolidated and attracted the interest of European giants. Transferred to Chelsea in 2011, David Luiz experienced the peak of his European career, winning the UEFA Champions League in 2012. He also played for Paris Saint-Germain and Arsenal before returning to Brazil, where he wore the shirts of Flamengo and Athletico Paranaense until the end of his career. For the Brazilian National Team, he competed in the 2014 World Cup at home.
