Dimitar Berbatov
Dimitar Berbatov is widely regarded as Bulgaria's greatest player of his generation and one of the most elegant and technically refined strikers in European football during the 2000s and 2010s. With an almost lazy demeanor but deceptive technical control, the Bulgarian bewildered opponents and enchanted fans with his ball control, game vision, and composure in front of goal. Discovered by CSKA Sofia, he shone at Bayer Leverkusen before being transferred to England, where he had great seasons at Tottenham Hotspur and, especially, Manchester United. In 2010-11, he was the Premier League's top scorer with 20 goals, including a five-goal hat-trick against Arsenal — the first English team to achieve such a feat in many decades. For the Bulgarian national team, he was captain and the country's all-time leading goalscorer, with 48 goals in 78 matches.
