Fábio Aurélio Rodrigues is a former Brazilian left-back known for his quality in set-piece deliveries and for his spells at Valencia and Liverpool. Trained at São Paulo, he made his professional debut at the Morumbi club in the late 1990s and was signed by Valencia in 2000. In Spain, he was part of the squad that won two La Liga titles, in 2001-02 and 2003-04, as well as the UEFA Cup in 2004. In 2006 he transferred to Liverpool, called by Rafael Benítez, and remained at the English club until 2012, with an interruption. He scored goals from free-kicks and won the FA Cup in 2006, but his career was marked by recurring injuries. He returned to Brazil to play for Grêmio in 2013 and ended his career shortly after, never having been called up for a World Cup by the Brazilian national team.
