Fábio

Fábio Deivson Lopes Maciel was born on September 30, 1980 and played for União Bandeirante and Vasco da Gama before transferring to Cruzeiro in 2005, the club where he would build the majority of his legend as a goalkeeper. At Cruzeiro, between 2005 and 2021, Fábio played 976 matches and became the all-time record holder for games played in the club's history, winning the Brazilian Championships of 2013 and 2014, the Copa do Brasil titles of 2017 and 2018, and several Minas Gerais titles. In 2022 he transferred to Fluminense, where he continued breaking records and experienced historic moments, such as winning the unprecedented Copa Libertadores de América in 2023 and the Recopa Sudamericana in 2024, in addition to Rio de Janeiro titles. On August 20, 2025, Fábio surpassed Englishman Peter Shilton's mark and became the player with the most matches played in the history of professional football, surpassing 1,391 games. He also holds the record for the most matches without conceding a goal as a goalkeeper, with 517 games. Despite several call-ups to the Brazilian National Team between 2003 and 2011, he never played in an official match for the senior squad, but won the 1997 FIFA U-17 World Championship with Brazil.
