Fabio Grosso
Fabio Grosso is a retired Italian left-back, born in Rome, who became one of the greatest symbols of Italian football in the 21st century by scoring the decisive goal in extra time of the semi-final against Germany in the 2006 World Cup and converting the decisive penalty in the final against France. His club career included spells at Perugia and Palermo, where he stood out enough to be called up for the first time to the Italian national team, before transferring to Inter Milan in 2006, where he won three consecutive Serie A titles. After a brief spell at Juventus, he ended his playing career at Olympique Lyonnais in France, where he also won national titles before retiring in 2012. After hanging up his boots, Grosso pursued a career as a manager, directing clubs such as Frosinone, Brescia, Bari and Sassuolo in Italian football.
