Fernando Morena

Fernando Morena is one of the greatest strikers in Uruguayan football history, having spent most of his career at Peñarol, the club for which he became an absolute idol and the all-time leading goal scorer in the history of the Uruguayan Championship. With great goal-scoring instinct and remarkable consistency, Morena was a key figure in Peñarol's achievements during the 1970s and 1980s, a period when the club dominated Uruguayan football and had strong campaigns in the Copa Libertadores de América. He also played for the Uruguayan National Team, participating in the 1974 World Cup in West Germany, and is recognized to this day as a symbol of Uruguayan football.
