Fernando Morientes
Fernando Morientes was one of the great Spanish strikers of his generation. Developed at Albacete, he gained prominence at Real Zaragoza before transferring to Real Madrid in 1997, where he lived the peak of his career. At Real Madrid, he formed a historic attacking partnership with Raúl and won three European Cups (1998, 2000 and 2002), as well as Spanish titles. In 2003-04, on loan at Monaco, he was a key piece in the campaign that led the French club to the Champions League final, being the top scorer of that edition of the tournament. He then played for Liverpool, Valencia and Olympique de Marseille before retiring in 2010. For the Spanish national team, he participated in the World Cups of 1998 and 2002, scoring 27 goals in 47 matches.
