Flávio Conceição

Flávio Conceição was one of the greatest Brazilian midfielders of the 1990s and early 2000s. Revealed at Palmeiras, he stood out for his physical strength, relentless marking and quality in ball distribution, characteristics that led him to Spanish football while still young. At Deportivo La Coruña, between 1996 and 2000, he experienced a great period and was an important player on the team that won the historic Spanish title in the 1999-2000 season, the first in the club's history. His outstanding performance led to his transfer to Real Madrid, then one of the most expensive midfielder signings in Spanish football. At Real Madrid, he was part of the galactic squad that won the Champions League in 2002, as well as the Spanish Championship in 2001 and the Intercontinental Cup in 2002. He later played for Borussia Dortmund and Galatasaray before ending his career. For the Brazilian National Team, he won two Copa Americas, in 1997 and 1999, was a bronze medalist at the 1996 Atlanta Olympic Games and played in the 1998 World Cup in France, in which Brazil finished as runner-up.
