Gerd Müller, 'The Bomber of the Nation', is considered the greatest pure goalscorer in German football history and one of the most prolific of all time. Born in Nördlingen, he impressed with devastating efficiency in tight spaces, quick reflexes and powerful finishing with both feet. World Cup champion in 1974, he also won three consecutive Champions League titles with Bayern Munich. His record of 68 goals in a Bundesliga season lasted for decades.
