Gordon Banks is considered one of the greatest goalkeepers in football history, famous for making 'the save of the century' when he denied Pelé a goal in the 1970 World Cup. World Champion with England in 1966, he was elected best goalkeeper in the world for several consecutive years. His career was prematurely ended by a car accident that left him with limited vision.
