Gunnar Nordahl

Gunnar Nordahl is considered one of the greatest center-forwards in football history and the greatest goal scorer in AC Milan's history. Part of the legendary 'Gre-No-Li' trio alongside Gunnar Gren and Nils Liedholm, he transformed Milan into a powerhouse of Italian football in the 1950s. Born in Hörnefors, Sweden, he began his career at IFK Norrköping where he accumulated titles and established himself as an indisputable goal scorer. In 1948, he joined the Swedish national team that won the gold medal at the London Olympics. In 1949, he transferred to AC Milan, where he experienced his most glorious years. He scored 225 goals in 268 Serie A matches, becoming the greatest goal scorer in Rossoneri club history. He won the Serie A top scorer award (Capocannoniere) in five consecutive seasons between 1950 and 1955. For the Swedish national team, he scored 43 goals in 33 matches, one of the best averages of his era. He passed away on September 15, 1995, leaving a legacy that inspired generations of center-forwards.
