João Palhinha

João Palhinha is one of the best midfielders of his generation, a specialist in tackles and a key defensive asset. His imposing physique, sharp game reading and constant threat from aerial balls make him a coveted player for Europe's biggest clubs. Trained at Sporting, he went through a long loan journey — Moreirense, Belenenses and Braga — before establishing himself at Alvalade. Back at Sporting, he was crucial in winning the 2020-21 Primeira Liga, a title that ended a 19-year drought for the Lisbon club. In 2022 he transferred to Fulham, where he became one of the Premier League's top tackle leaders and gained star status. Bayern Munich signed him in 2024, and the Portuguese won the 2024-25 Bundesliga before returning to England on loan at Tottenham. For the Portuguese national team, he featured in the 2022 World Cup and Euro 2024.
