Joško Gvardiol
Joško Gvardiol was born on January 23, 2002 in Zagreb, Croatia, and graduated from the youth categories of Dinamo Zagreb, the club where he made his professional debut in 2019. A left-footed center-back with great speed and quality in ball distribution, he won two Croatian league titles and the Croatian Cup with Dinamo Zagreb before transferring to RB Leipzig, Germany, in 2021, where he played 87 matches and scored 5 goals, in addition to winning two editions of the DFB-Pokal. He stood out on the world stage at the 2022 World Cup in Qatar, helping Croatia achieve third place in the tournament at just 20 years old, which caught the attention of major European clubs. In August 2023, he was signed by Manchester City for approximately 90 million euros, becoming the most expensive center-back in football history at that time.
