Júnior
Júnior was a Brazilian left-back considered one of the best in his position throughout history, discovered in Flamengo's youth categories. With great offensive ability, he was frequently used advancing through the field as a true winger, a characteristic valued by coach Telê Santana in the Brazilian National Team in the early 1980s. At Flamengo, he was a key player for the multiple championship-winning team that brought together Zico, Sócrates and other stars, experiencing the peak of his career with the conquest of the Copa Libertadores and the Intercontinental Cup of 1981, when Flamengo thrashed Liverpool 3-0 in the final. He represented the Brazilian National Team in three World Cups (1982, 1986 and 1990), being one of the symbols of the unforgettable generation of 1982. He also had a spell in Italian football, defending Torino, before returning to Flamengo to end his career.
