Jürgen Kohler

Jürgen Kohler was one of the greatest defenders in German football history, known for his relentless marking and defensive leadership. A World Cup champion with Germany in 1990, he became famous for neutralizing top strikers in decisive matches. Forged in German football, he stood out at Cologne and Bayern Munich before moving to Juventus, where he won the UEFA Cup. Upon returning to Germany, he became a Borussia Dortmund icon, winning the Champions League in 1997 against Juventus itself. He represented the German national team in three World Cups and won the title in 1990 in Italy, as well as the 1996 European Championship. He ended his career in 2002 following the UEFA Cup final with Dortmund. After hanging up his boots, he pursued a career as a coach and manager in German football.
