Laurent Blanc
Laurent Blanc, nicknamed 'Le President', was a French defender with great technical elegance, considered one of the best defenders of his generation. He played for clubs such as Montpellier, Napoli, Saint-Etienne, Auxerre, Barcelona, Marseille, Inter Milan and Manchester United throughout a long career. He was captain of the French national team that won the World Cup in 1998, hosted at home, scoring the golden goal in the victory over Paraguay in the round of 16. The following year, he also won the European Championship 2000 with France. After retiring as a player, he became a successful coach, winning the French Championship with Bordeaux in 2008-09, managing the French national team between 2010 and 2012, and winning three consecutive Ligue 1 titles with Paris Saint-Germain between 2013 and 2015.
