Maicon
Maicon Sisenando Douglas, born on July 26, 1981 in Novo Hamburgo, Rio Grande do Sul, is considered one of the greatest right-backs in football history. With a rare combination of speed, physical strength, technical skill, and goal-scoring instinct, the Brazilian captivated football fans worldwide during more than a decade of his career in Europe. His most glorious chapter took place at Internazionale Milan, where he lived his golden years under the command of José Mourinho. In the 2009-10 season, he was a key piece in the conquest of the historic Treble — Serie A, Coppa Italia, and Champions League — a feat that Inter had not repeated since 1965. At the 2010 World Cup, he scored an acrobatic backheel goal against South Korea, voted one of the most beautiful goals of the tournament. For the Brazilian National Team, he was present in three consecutive World Cups (2006, 2010, and 2014), being the undisputed starter at right-back during the entire first half of the 2010s. He was voted the best right-back in the world by IFFHS in 2010, at the peak of his career.
