Marc-André ter Stegen

Marc-André ter Stegen was born in Mönchengladbach, Germany, and joined Borussia Mönchengladbach's youth academy at just four years old, making his debut for the senior team in 2011. After four seasons in the Bundesliga, he transferred to Barcelona in 2014 for €12 million, winning the treble (La Liga, Copa del Rey, and UEFA Champions League) in his first season at the Catalan club. He became the undisputed starter after Claudio Bravo's departure in 2016. Known for his excellent reflexes in defense and his quality with his feet, helping the team build plays from the back, ter Stegen became Barcelona's captain in the 2024-25 season, but suffered a serious knee injury that kept him off the pitch for months. With the German national team, he competed in the World Cups of 2018, 2022 and Euro 2024, and also won the Confederations Cup in 2017.
