Mazinho
Mazinho was one of the most complete midfielders in Brazilian football during the 1990s, combining efficient marking, tactical intelligence and good ball distribution. A native of Lavras (MG), he stood out at Fluminense before building a solid career in Spanish football. His greatest moment with the National Team was the 1994 World Cup in the United States, when he was part of the historic squad that ended 24 years without a world title. A relentless marker, he played a fundamental role in the team's defensive solidity under Carlos Alberto Parreira. Off the pitch, he also gained notoriety as the father of two elite European players: Thiago Alcântara, who shone at Bayern Munich, Barcelona and Liverpool while playing for Spain, and Rafinha, a left-back who played for Barcelona and the Brazilian National Team. The Alcântara family became one of the most famous families in world football.
