Michael Laudrup

Michael Laudrup was born on June 15, 1964 in Copenhagen and is considered the greatest Danish player of all time. He played for Juventus, Barcelona and Real Madrid, a rare case of an athlete who played for the two greatest rivals in Spanish football and was national champion with both. He was a central figure in Barcelona's Dream Team managed by Johan Cruyff in the early 1990s, a period of Spanish and European dominance by the Catalan club. With the Danish national team, he accumulated more than a hundred matches. He was absent from the winning Euro 1992 campaign due to disagreements with the technical staff, and played in the 1998 World Cup in France, ending his international career in that tournament.
