Michel Platini
Michel Platini is the only player to win three consecutive Ballon d'Or awards (1983, 1984, 1985) and is considered the greatest French player before Zidane. Born in Joeuf, in Lorraine, he impressed the world with his vision of the game, precise shots and ability to score difficult goals. He led France to third place in the 1982 and 1986 World Cups, and to winning the 1984 European Championship, a tournament in which he scored 9 goals in just 5 matches.
