Reinaldo
Reinaldo was born on January 11, 1957 in Ponte Nova, Minas Gerais, and became Atlético Mineiro's greatest attacking idol in the 1970s. He was the top scorer of the 1977 Campeonato Brasileiro with 28 goals, a historic record for the competition, and was Atlético's main player during that period, with an exceptional goal-scoring average. He made his debut for the Brazilian national team and participated in the 1978 World Cup in Argentina, where he scored against Sweden. Recurring knee injuries limited his career and prevented him from performing at full potential. He was also known for his raised fist gesture when celebrating goals, a symbol of political positioning during the Brazilian military dictatorship.
