Mauro Ramos de Oliveira
Mauro Ramos de Oliveira, simply known as Mauro, was a Brazilian center-back born in Poços de Caldas, Minas Gerais, on August 30, 1930. He built most of his career at São Paulo, where he played for more than a decade starting in the early 1950s. In 1960 he transferred to Santos, joining Pelé's team that won the Copa Libertadores in 1962 and 1963 and the Intercontinental Cups in the same years. In the Brazilian national team, he was a reserve in the 1958 World Cup title in Sweden, and captain of the championship team at the 1962 World Cup in Chile, lifting the trophy in the final against Czechoslovakia. Thus he became one of the few players with two World titles and the captain's armband in a World Cup final. He ended his career in the 1960s and died on September 18, 2002, in São Paulo.
