Nunes

Nunes

Nunes was a Brazilian striker who became one of Flamengo's heroes during the height of Zico's team in the early 1980s. Developed through Flamengo's youth categories, he earned his place in the starting lineup at the turn of the decade. The most remarkable moment of his career came in the final of the 1981 Intercontinental Cup, played in Tokyo against Liverpool, then European champions. Nunes scored two of the three goals in the 3-0 victory, cementing Flamengo's status as world club champions. After leaving Flamengo, Nunes played for other Brazilian clubs, but his name remains primarily associated with the historic 1981 campaign, alongside teammates such as Zico, Junior, and Leandro.
