Obdulio Varela

Obdulio Varela was the captain who led Uruguay in the historic 'Maracanazo' of 1950, when Uruguay defeated Brazil 2-1 at the Maracanã and became world champion. Known as 'El Jefe Negro' and 'El Negro Jefe', he is one of the greatest legends of South American football.
