Oliver Kahn
Oliver Kahn is considered one of the greatest goalkeepers in the history of world football. Nicknamed 'Der Titan' (The Titan), the German stood out for his strong personality, exceptional reflexes and leadership ability throughout more than two decades of a high-level career. Born in Karlsruhe in 1969, Kahn began his professional career at Karlsruher SC before transferring to Bayern Munich in 1994. At the Bavarian club, he became one of the greatest goalkeepers in Bundesliga and European history, winning countless national and international titles. At the 2002 World Cup in Japan and South Korea, Kahn featured in one of the most remarkable individual campaigns in the tournament's history. Even though Germany finished as runners-up, he was elected the best goalkeeper of the tournament and received the Ballon d'Or — the only time in history that a goalkeeper won this award at a World Cup. After retiring as a player in 2008, Kahn became a sports commentator and executive. In 2021 he assumed the presidency of Bayern Munich, a position he held until 2023.
