Paco Gento
Francisco 'Paco' Gento was a Spanish left winger considered one of the greatest players in Real Madrid's history, a club for which he played for nearly two uninterrupted decades. Known for his impressive speed, he earned the nickname 'El Supersónico' for the ease with which he would bypass opposing full-backs. Gento was a key player for Real Madrid, which dominated Europe from the late 1950s through the 1960s, forming a legendary attack alongside Alfredo Di Stéfano and Ferenc Puskás. He is the player with the most European Cup (current Champions League) titles in history, winning six trophies with the merengue shirt. For the Spanish national team, he played in the 1962 World Cup in Chile, and was also a European champion in 1964. After retiring, he remained connected to Real Madrid as a director and club ambassador until his death in January 2022.
