Pedri

Pedri

Pedri is considered one of the greatest football talents in the world of his generation. A native of Tegueste, in the Canary Islands, the young Barcelona midfielder impressed the world with technical and tactical maturity rarely seen in players his age, being widely compared to historical idols of the Spanish midfield like Xavi Hernández and Andrés Iniesta. Raised in Las Palmas' youth academy, he was signed by Barcelona in 2019 and loaned back to the Canary Islands club to gain experience in the Segunda División. In 2020, he made his debut for Barça's main team at just 18 years old and immediately became an undisputed starter, impressing with exceptional game vision, ball control, and tactical intelligence. Already in his first full season at Barcelona, he was called up to the Spanish National Team and played in Euro 2020 — held in 2021 — where Spain reached the semifinals. The season earned him the Golden Boy Trophy 2021, an award given to the best young player in Europe, consolidating his status as a future star of world football. Despite suffering from muscle injuries in the following seasons, Pedri returned to his best level and was part of the Spanish squad that won Euro 2024 in Germany, with Spain becoming European champions for the fourth time in history. At only 21 years old when winning the title, Pedri is pointed out as the natural heir to the Spanish midfield.
