Rafaelle Souza
Rafaelle Souza is a Brazilian center-back who became captain of the Brazilian national women's team and one of the main defenders of European football in the 2020s. She began her career in clubs in the Northeast before establishing herself in São Paulo football. Discovered by Vitória das Tabocas, she played for Santos and Corinthians, where she won several national titles and established herself as a starter in the defense for several years. In 2022, she transferred to Arsenal, England, where she became an important part of the team that won the UEFA Women's Champions League. For the Brazilian National Team, she was captain at the 2023 World Cup, held in Australia and New Zealand. Known for her leadership on the field and defensive solidity, Rafaelle is considered one of the references of the current generation of Brazilian women's football abroad.
