Ricardo Quaresma

Ricardo Quaresma was born in Lisbon and developed through Sporting's youth academy. A right winger with great skill, he became famous for his use of the trivela, a shot with the outside of the right foot, which became his trademark. After spells at Barcelona, Porto, Inter Milan and Chelsea, he had his longest and most remarkable years at Besiktas, in Turkey, where he won the Süper Lig championship in 2016-17 and 2020-21 and the Turkish Cup in 2020-21. For the Portuguese national team, he was a champion of Euro 2016, scoring the winning goal in the round of 16 against Croatia, in extra time. At the 2018 World Cup, he scored a trivela goal against Iran, in Saransk, which was among the most talked-about of the tournament.
