Robert Pirès

Robert Pirès was one of the best wingers of his generation, recognized for his technical elegance, sharp game vision and ability to decide matches with bewildering dribbles and pinpoint passes. World Champion with France in 1998 and European Championship in 2000, Pirès found in Arsenal the ideal environment to flourish fully under the guidance of Arsène Wenger. He was a key piece in the 'Invincibles' of 2003-04 and was chosen as the best player in England in the 2001-02 season. After retiring, he became a commentator and sports ambassador, especially in Spain where he played for Villarreal.
