Roy Keane

Roy Keane

Roy Keane is one of the greatest midfielders in the history of British football, known for his leadership, intensity and competitiveness. He came through at Cobh Ramblers, in Ireland, before moving to English football, where he built a prominent career at Nottingham Forest and, above all, at Manchester United. At Manchester United, where he played from 1993 to 2005, Keane was captain for several years and a key figure in winning multiple titles, including the historic treble of 1999 (Premier League, FA Cup and Champions League). His commanding presence on the pitch became a reference for later generations of players. For the Irish national team, Keane was captain and one of the most important figures of his generation, also marked by the controversial withdrawal from the team's preparation before the 2002 World Cup, following a disagreement with coach Mick McCarthy.
