Karl-Heinz Rummenigge was one of the greatest European strikers of the 1970s and 1980s, shining at Bayern Munich and for West Germany's national team with speed, technique, and goal-scoring efficiency. He won two consecutive Ballon d'Or awards in 1980 and 1981, being the only German to win them consecutively. He led the German national team to the finals of the 1982 and 1986 World Cups, becoming a symbol of a victorious generation. After retiring from playing, he became an influential executive, presiding over Bayern Munich for decades.
