Ryan Giggs

Ryan Giggs

Ryan Giggs is one of the most decorated players in English and world football, having spent his entire professional career at Manchester United. Born in Cardiff, Wales, he became the embodiment of Sir Alex Ferguson's project, being the only player to feature in all 22 editions of the Premier League since its creation in 1992 until 2014. Known for his devastating speed on the left wing in his youth, Giggs evolved into a creative midfielder in his mature phase, prolonging his career with intelligence and technical refinement. His solo goal scored against Arsenal in the FA Cup semi-finals of 1999 — when he dribbled past virtually the entire opposing defense — is repeatedly voted as the most beautiful goal in Premier League history. He won 13 Premier League titles with Manchester United, an unmatched feat in English football. He was two-time European champion with the club in 1999 and 2008, in addition to accumulating four FA Cup titles and three EFL Cup titles. His 963 appearances for United remain as the absolute record for appearances for the club. For the Wales national team, he represented his country with pride in 64 matches over 16 years, but never had the chance to compete in a World Cup or European Championship, reflecting the historical difficulties of the Welsh team in European qualifying.
