Samir Nasri

Samir Nasri

Samir Nasri is one of the most talented midfielders that France has produced in his generation. Born in Marseille in 1987, the son of Algerian immigrants stood out at Olympique de Marseille before shining at the major clubs of the English Premier League, where he won two national league titles. Endowed with exceptional technical skill, speed and ability to create plays in tight spaces, Nasri enchanted the stages of European football with his elegance with the ball. At Arsenal, he was considered one of the most creative midfielders in the English league, before a controversial transfer to rival Manchester City. At Manchester City, Nasri was an important piece in the Premier League titles of 2011-12 and 2013-14, participating in one of the most victorious eras of the English club. His ability to dribble in congested spaces and create chances for teammates were striking characteristics during those years. For the French national team, Nasri participated in the 2010 World Cup in South Africa, although the participation was marked by the controversial early elimination and internal disagreements in the team's locker room. Despite his recognized talent, the midfielder never managed to consolidate a long-lasting trajectory with the France national team.
